The use of asphalt emulsifiers is constantly being updated with the engineering, and the methods of use are also being explored and developed. Let's take a look at the two most commonly used methods in engineering construction for your reference.

1. Steps of latex internal mixing method:
(1) Add emulsifier and latex to 55-60℃ water in proportion to fully dissolve and mix them. (The amount of emulsifier depends on the amount of latex. The higher the amount of latex, the higher the amount of emulsifier should be. The amount of latex should be adjusted according to different asphalts while the softening point is not lower than the specification requirements.)
(2) Heat the asphalt to 140-145℃ and pump it into the colloid mill together with the aqueous solution of emulsifier and latex (55-60℃) for emulsification.
2. Steps of latex external mixing method:
(1) Add the emulsifier to 55-60℃ water in proportion and stir to fully dissolve it, then pump the asphalt heated to 140-145℃ and the emulsifier aqueous solution into the colloid mill for emulsification.
(2) At the outlet of the emulsified asphalt, slowly add latex in proportion, and then use a stirrer to fully mix it in the emulsified asphalt storage tank; or add latex before using the emulsified asphalt, mix it evenly and it can be used. The internal mixing method has good stability, but the amount of emulsifier is large, while the external mixing method has poor stability, small amount of emulsifier and low cost.
