At present, regarding the safety management of road construction machinery and equipment, the existing problems are still serious and difficult to solve. They mainly include: untimely equipment maintenance, low quality of equipment maintenance personnel, and low safety awareness of operators.

1. Road construction machinery and equipment are not maintained in a timely manner
During the construction process, some companies often ignore the quality of construction for the sake of immediate benefits, which creates great hidden dangers for safety. Some road construction machinery and equipment have to complete a large number of construction tasks in a short period of time. Many machinery and equipment have been operating at overload or even sick for a long time, which has had a great impact on the safety performance of the machinery and equipment. After equipment problems arise, they are unwilling to invest in purchasing new equipment, resulting in some mechanical equipment continuing to be used after reaching their service life or even being scrapped. The safety performance of these aging equipment is not guaranteed and has become an important risk point in highway construction. In addition, unqualified quality of equipment accessories and unqualified materials used in machinery can also cause safety accidents. Not only is the equipment overused, but there is also a lack of corresponding maintenance and upkeep work, which has become the primary issue restricting the safety management of mechanical equipment.
2. The quality of equipment maintenance personnel is not high
In addition to the reasons for the road construction machinery and equipment themselves, human factors will also affect the efficiency of equipment management. Especially during the maintenance process, some maintenance personnel are not of high quality and their skills are not good enough. They repair the equipment based on their own feelings, which makes there a certain uncertainty about whether the equipment can be repaired. In addition, if maintenance personnel do not perform repairs in a timely manner, safety accidents may occur.
3. Operators have low safety awareness
At many construction sites, when road construction machinery and equipment are in operation, operators do not take it seriously, do not have sufficient awareness of safety protection, and do not work in accordance with operating procedures, resulting in tragedies. In addition, many equipment operators have limited ability to foresee dangerous accidents, and safety accidents often occur beyond the foreseeable range.
