Chip seal has good anti-skid performance and anti-seepage performance, and can effectively cure road surface oil deficiency, grain loss, slight cracking, rutting, subsidence and other diseases. It is mainly used for preventive and corrective maintenance of roads, as well as to improve the anti-skid performance of high-grade roads.
Slurry seal is a thin layer formed by mechanical equipment mixing appropriately graded emulsified asphalt, coarse and fine aggregates, water, fillers (cement, lime, fly ash, stone powder, etc.) and additives according to the designed ratio into a slurry mixture and paving it on the original road surface. Since these emulsified asphalt mixtures are thin and paste-like in consistency and the paving thickness is thin, generally less than 3 cm, they can quickly restore the road surface damage such as wear, aging, cracks, smoothness, and looseness, and play the role of waterproof, anti-skid, flat, wear-resistant and improve the function of the road surface. After the slurry seal is applied to the rough road surface of the newly paved asphalt pavement, such as the penetration type, coarse-grained asphalt concrete, asphalt macadam, etc., it can significantly improve the quality of the road surface as a protective layer and wear layer, but it cannot play a load-bearing structural role.
